Ecology and Research Association at the IUCN World Congress in Abu Dhabi

Yesterday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the World Congress of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) began, which will last until October 15. This year, the Congress brings together more than 10,000 participants, including decision-makers, representatives of the civil society, indigenous peoples’ organizations, the scientific community and the business community, all with the aim of advancing and defining the global agenda for a healthier and more sustainable planet in the years to come.

“The decisions that will be made this week will determine whether we meet this moment with courage and cooperation. If we succeed, this Congress will show that science, inclusiveness and shared purpose can still guide humanity towards a future in which both people and nature thrive,” said H.E. Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, President of IUCN, at the opening of the event.

The congress was also attended by members of the Ecology and Research Association, represented by Deputy President Dr. Igor Trbojević and the organization’s Project Manager Tijana Trbojević, MSc Ecology.
